Fear's a funny thing... It doesn't cause you any real physical pain, It's often about things that haven't happened yet and might never happen, And it's all
in your head... But it can be the most crippling thing we can experience as human beings... And if you're like 99% of people I know who are looking to start a home-based business, fear holds them back… The
fear of failing, The fear of being wrong, The fear of looking stupid, The fear of being criticised, Has
been holding you back in your business... And will continue to do so unless you do something about it... Fear rears its ugly little head in many different ways... It stops you from breaking free from working in a
mundane job, It stops you from becoming the person you have the potential to be, It stops you from building your work around your family or pursuing a personal project, It stops you from working to make your
boss rich, And that's just off the top of my head... Most people know this, at least to some extent. It begs the question then, "How do you get over the fear?" Well, I've got some bad news for you... You can't... The only real solution is to feel the fear and do it anyway... But here are five 'truths' about fear to make things easier... 1. The fear will never go away as long as you continue to grow. Maybe not what you wanted to hear, but I think there is a relief that comes with you no longer having to work so hard to try and eliminate the fear. What happens is that as your confidence grows, your relationship with fear dramatically changes. Think about this, doing the things
that you're scared of the most is where you'll see the most growth. Look for fear and be excited by it, it's par for the course… 2. The only way to overcome the fear of doing something is to go out and do it. If this sounds contradictory to Truth 1, it's not. Fear of particular situations dissolves when you finally
confront them, and you realise it's not as bad as you thought it might be… 3. The only way to feel better about yourself is to go out and do it. This is important; the "doing it" comes before feeling better about yourself… 4. Not only will you experience fear whenever you're in unfamiliar territory, but so will everyone else. This one usually comes as a relief. Often, we think we're the only person who experiences these fears when, in fact, everyone does – it's perfectly normal… 5. Pushing through fear is less
frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from a feeling of helplessness. No matter how "secure" we feel in the cocoon we have built for ourselves, we live, consciously or unconsciously, with the fear that the day of reckoning will eventually come. Ultimately, it's less frightening to just take the fear head-on… Now’s the time to
step out of the fear that is holding you back, and step in to a new life of abundance… |
