Very often I receive wonderful emails from people thanking me for the free, informative, and insightful content I share.
But every once in a while, I get the opposite—an unpleasant email, letting me know
exactly where I “should stick” my newsletter.
Even though I put the unsubscribe link right at the top, some people still choose to send a scathing response rather than simply unsubscribing.
Sadly, there are
individuals who seem to get a kick out of being critical.
One chap told me he values my emails, yet finds me “abhorrent” because I don’t give away my Recruitment Start-Up Programme for free.
Now, why would I give away 40
years of knowledge and experience for nothing to someone unwilling to invest in themselves, when others are ready to pay good money to change their future?
Yes, life can be unfair, and some people have been dealt a difficult hand.
But even so, many are quick to tell me why they can’t take action—why they won’t invest in their own future.
Here’s the reality: that’s none of my business.
My focus is
firmly on those who choose to act—people who are willing to invest in themselves and improve their lives.
Often, I hear the same excuses from those who feel stuck:
STRUGGLER: “I haven’t got any
money…”
JOE: “Have you tried applying for a grant?”
STRUGGLER: “Where would I even find one?”
JOE: “When you attended my
workshop, I gave you a free business plan and links to hundreds of grants…”
STRUGGLER: “Yeah, but it’s not easy to get a grant…”
JOE: “Have you applied then?”
STRUGGLER: “No… maybe you could do it for me?”
Some people hope life will hand them everything on a plate.
But business—and life—doesn’t work that way.
Many hesitate to act because they want certainty:
“What’s the BEST way to do this?”
“Will this work for me?”
“Do you GUARANTEE it will work?”
“I’ll pay when I make some money…”
Here’s a truth you need to hear: doing nothing gets you nowhere.
If you continue doing what you’ve always done, you’ll continue getting the same results.
Whether or not you choose to start your own home-based recruitment agency is entirely up to you.
It’s your choice.
I’ll continue to focus on helping those who have decided to invest in themselves, building a business that provides security and opportunity for their family for many years to come.
